The motif is created in consultation with you, either before the event or even live during the event. Each individual guest will have their own small screen. After the presentation of the Pixel Painting, you share the painting with others. The unique souvenirs are presented in a gift box because memories matter.

Dr. Christof Breidenich shows how it works with his pixel paintings

Imagine an artist painting a picture. He has just applied the final brush strokes. You remain standing in front of his work and are impressed. The painter sees your fascination, removes a piece of the painting and presents it to you as a gift. You take it home, along with a great story to tell about the unique work on canvas.

Now imagine that the painting was not created in an atelier but at a major corporate event in front of the guests. On a huge canvas. As a live art performance. At the end, every visitor receives an element of the complete painting – what is known as a pixel. And in this way the unique art campaign becomes an experience for all, a lasting souvenir to take away.

This principle has turned the pixel painting into a success concept. It was developed by Dr Christof Breidenich, design professor at the Cologne campus of MHMK, Macromedia University for Media and Communication (University of Applied Sciences). With his pixel paintings, he proves to the international corporate world of today that painting has for centuries been a state-of-the-art marketing tool.

The pixel painting is based on a well-conceived visual design concept. It is intended to create loyalty among internal and external target groups, visualise and anchor corporate values and convey business objectives in a comprehensible and lasting manner. A pixel painting transforms key statements into images, project participants into partners. Under the motto: your painting to share – Breidenich catapults a traditional technique into our digital age.

The pixel painting consists of a large canvas, composed of many small, always equally sized canvases. The number of guests at an anniversary celebration, product presentation or other major corporate event corresponds to the number of these small canvasses or, in the diction of the artist, a “pixel”. The motif can be agreed completely according to the customer’s wishes, and painted in advance or live during the event. It is then given away to the guests pixel by pixel.

And this has worked for many years: the pixel strategy has proven its worth in many places since the first public presentation in the year 2000. Christof Breidenich and his team have already shared more than 80,000 pixels at more than 300 events on several continents. Customers include many internationally operating companies and, of course, large corporate groups.

Dr. Christof Breidenich, the Pixel Painter sees himself as a visual consultant and facilitator for internal communication or for commitment ceremonies in companies. Pixel painting strengthens internal relationships and makes it possible to experience them. External target groups are addressed in a creative way and consequently visually integrated into the corporate context. The Pixel Painting team has been traveling the world for 15 years.
